Philosophy
Every space and user is different, but all are equally important to us! We are convinced that furniture should answer in a smart way to all specific wishes without any compromise. It is up to each customer to decide what fits best and it is up to the furniture to bend itself accordingly.
This believe is translated into Bended Furniture: A furniture concept that offers maximum flexibility and adaptability thanks to a parametric design process. Starting from a basis of clean and characteristic furniture pieces, customers are free to alter and combine according to their wishes – now and in the future. CNC-milling allows us to produce these custom designs in a sustainable, fast and affordable way, everywhere around the globe. No concessions needed, all wishes met!
Sustainability
In the way we care for all our different customers, we equally care for our planet. This translates into sustainable choices in the design, production and usage of Bended Furniture.
FSC approved wood is thus a natural and beautiful choice. Natural oils as finish increase durability without any negative environmental impact. Bended furniture’s robust designs can take a punch and allow for intensive, long-term usage.
The detailing makes (dis)assembly supereasy and supports the usage of smart add-ons to adjust furniture pieces according to changing needs. Bended furniture can thus stay with you for a lifetime. But, if you ever decide to get rid of your Bended piece, we promise to take it back!
Since this smart design allows for computer based production methods, local production could minimize both shipping costs and footprint, making both customers and planet happy!
The team
Bended Furniture is an initiative of Bende Rotterdam, a Dutch design and build agency based in a pioneering, creative area of Rotterdam. When Bende-members Olmo and Wouter learned that possibilities for their furniture designs extended far beyond Bende’s own projects they initiated a new label: Bended furniture.
WOUTER VAN DOORN

Wouter took over Bende in 2016 – together with business partner Hugo Nagtzaam – after 15 years in the advertising and online communication business. This self-initiated re-integration process after a heavy burn-out, ultimately led to a successful design agency with Bended Furniture as great spinoff!
OLMO MEIJS
Industrial designer at Bende Rotterdam
Olmo graduated on parametric furniture design during a traineeship at Bende and continues to work with us. The table he developed then, had been presented during Dutch Design Week 2018. So, it may not come as a surprise that the first ideas for Bended Furniture were born during his traineeship.
